Spread Some Joy - it's free, and it's contagious!
Over the upcoming weeks, BetterPhoto members will be experiencing the holiday season in many ways. In our diverse community, with people from all over the world, December is different for everyone. The holidays are sometimes the toughest time of year, for some, finding joy or a reason to celebrate can be challenging.

In this season of giving, the greatest gift of all can be of your time. We want to know how holiday cheer is spread in your community. Is someone you know making a difference? Sometimes people just need a fresh idea to encourage them to volunteer. If you are giving of your time, please let us know how you are spreading joy this season.
What's happening in your home town?
Email me at Karen@betterphoto.com and I'll share it here. Let's spread some joy together!

My story is more one of "community sharing" than an individual one. I work at a library where the Assistant Librarian started a tradition several years ago. Each year, a day or two after Thanksgiving she puts a tree up in the library. It is completely bare with the exception of a tiny pair of red, white & blue mittens which she herself knitted, which hold a special place at the top of the tree. The community members then donate handmade or bought mittens and gloves, which are placed on the tree. By the time the Ass't Librarian is ready to turn the donations over to the township, the entire tree is covered...you can't see one bit of the tree. The tree has become known as "The Mitten Tree".
People over the years have also started donating hats and scarves. The items (except for the red, white & blue "mascot" pair) are then donated to our area township, who then gives them to those in need. The patrons of our library look forward to this each year and just love to contribute!
Just thought I'd share...
Happy Holidays to you!
